A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a mistake. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of junk messages, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming email messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

You will be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox with ease in case you have a web hosting account with us. The Email Manager tool in our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel is fully featured, yet stunningly easy to use, and it will enable you to activate various features, including the catch-all one, with no more than several clicks of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be shown in alphabetical order in this section and next to each one of them you will find a mini "Catch-all" symbol. Clicking it once will activate the feature, clicking on it again will disable it. As you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will notify you if you already have another mailbox with this feature enabled or if you’ve got enabled email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be activated easily if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up with the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be listed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll see a small-size sign handily located directly next to each one of them. With only a click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this option through the contextual menu that will come into view. If any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will let you know, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
